OUR BELIEFS

Oaktree is an Anglican evangelical church with a charismatic ethos. We hold to the historic creeds of the church, the authority of the Scriptures, and the atoning work of Christ in his death and resurrection.

Our Mission

Our mission is to glorify God, proclaiming and following Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. We are committed to the mission of the world-wide church. We seek to be a bold witness in our city and community, and to welcome and reach out to people of all nations in the power of the Spirit.

  • What this means is:

    • Glorify God

We focus all our attention on God. He is the hero in all our stories. We want the whole world to know how amazing God is.

    • Proclaim and Follow Christ

We declare Jesus’ message near and far. We grow people who love Jesus and follow Him and we love one another, as Jesus taught.

    • In the Power of the Holy Spirit

We seek the presence of God in our lives and our meetings. We rely on the Holy Spirit to empower us in all that we do.

Our Vision

  • Oaktree Anglican aims to be a church that:

    • Is alive and growing under God’s grace, the love of Christ and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
    • Devotes itself to steadfast prayer.
    • Is a community of thousands of followers of Jesus, from all races, nations, ages and backgrounds.
    • Meets to worship each week in worship services and small groups, where God is powerfully present by His Holy Spirit, the Word of God is proclaimed, and the love of Christ is shared.
    • Raises up and fosters devoted disciples of Jesus to lead and support ministry groups.
    • Ministers to people in all stages and situations of life.
    • Engages and transforms the community through reaching out to local schools, local government and other community groups.
    • Is a sending church: planting new congregations, releasing men and women for ministry beyond Oaktree, and supporting missions in Australia and beyond.
