ABOUT OAKTREE

Oaktree Anglican is a charismatic, evangelical community of Christian believers from across Melbourne, meeting in Caulfield and Elsternwick, Victoria.

Oaktree Anglican was formed in November 2014 when the two parishes of St Mary’s Caulfield and St Clement’s Elsternwick merged to become one church community. We continue our rich spiritual heritage of more than 150 years, through evangelical biblical teaching, steadfast prayer, a reliance on the gifts and empowering of the Holy Spirit, and an outward-looking focus to reach communities near and far with the message of Jesus Christ.

We are a church for all ages and seasons of life. We worship in both traditional and contemporary styles, warmly welcoming one another and the presence of God. We are a place of healing, nurture and growth for people from a wide range of faith backgrounds.

The name Oaktree symbolises the type of church we already are and will be in the future: a church that endures – sturdy and grounded; a place of refuge and shelter; a place of spiritual growth – fertile and life-giving; and a spiritual landmark in our community.

Our Vision

  • Oaktree Anglican aims to be a church that:

    • Is alive and growing under God’s grace, the love of Christ and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
    • Devotes itself to steadfast prayer.
    • Is a community of thousands of followers of Jesus, from all races, nations, ages and backgrounds.
    • Meets to worship each week in worship services and small groups, where God is powerfully present by His Holy Spirit, the Word of God is proclaimed, and the love of Christ is shared.
    • Raises up and fosters devoted disciples of Jesus to lead and support ministry groups.
    • Ministers to people in all stages and situations of life.
    • Engages and transforms the community through reaching out to local schools, local government and other community groups.
    • Is a sending church: planting new congregations, releasing men and women for ministry beyond Oaktree, and supporting missions in Australia and beyond.
