SERMONS & DEVOTIONS

Selected sermons from Oaktree services are available for download.

You may also ‘Browse Series’ or ‘Browse Speaker’ below to search for any of our Oaktree Messages.

Another handy way to listen to sermons is to subscribe to the podcast using the URL https://oaktreeanglican.org.au/?feed=seriesengine

Each week study notes are prepared and distributed for most messages.  These are used by Oaktree Connect Groups, and by individuals for personal devotions.  You can access the list of these posts here, or follow the ‘join our mailing list‘ link to subscribe yourself to the weekly emails.

Rod McArdle - March 1, 2020

Word & Spirit: Honouring the Spirit in His Power - 1 Corinthians 2:1-16 (Rod McArdle)

Word & Spirit (2020)

From Series: "Word & Spirit (2020)"

Spontaneous spiritual combustion – that’s what occurs when the Word of God and the Holy Spirit come together. It is what happened in the explosive growth of the early Church, as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles. But sadly, in church history, and in our times, there is often an effective ‘divorce’ between Word and Spirit. In this three-week series we’ll be encouraged to continue letting the Word of God dwell richly amongst us, and to actively and eagerly desire the conscious, manifest presence of the Spirit – in all the spheres of our lives.
