History

St Mary’s Sunday School has been running continuously since the nineteenth century.  A dedicated Sunday School was built to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee in 1878, and the attached School Hall building was added as an extension in 1904.

In 2013 St Mary’s Church council renamed and extended the role of the Sunday School.  St Mary’s Jubilee School of Christian Studies now offers educational programs for all ages, and manages the Jubilee School building.  The School’s operations are overseen by a Committee, under the leadership of the School Principal, the Revd Dr Mark Durie, vicar of St Mary’s.
