Families and children of all ages are warmly welcomed at Oaktree Anglican. We believe the next generation is worthy of our greatest investment of time, energy and love, and we know that parents need support to navigate the challenges of raising children. We also know that Jesus has a wonderful and perfect plan for each person.
As a result, we love connecting with families and we love providing a bridge for families to connect with Jesus. We’re here to give support and to build community. You’ll find us doing these things during the week and on Sundays.
We have a great range of age-appropriate programs designed to be fun for children, and a place where parents can share the journey of raising kids together in the power of the Holy Spirit. We love to involve and engage children in Sunday worship, plus through the Sunday Club program and much more. Please read on to discover what our growing, vibrant, welcoming community has to offer you.
Our heart is to partner with parents for kids to come to know Jesus personally and to start to discover the depths of His love for them. While we offer support for parents to disciple their children at home, we also offer a Sunday Club program during the 10.30am Caulfield service each Sunday, with the exception of most of January. This is for pre-schoolers, primary aged children and secondary students up to year 8.
Oaktree kids begin each service with some time spent together with the rest of the congregation. During this, they learn to experience the presence of God, the importance of worshipping as a family and the understanding that they are valued in God’s Kingdom. This is reflected by a weekly ‘Kids’ Spot’ which is a short time in the service given over to impact them with the good news of Jesus through a talk or a song.
After this they leave the service for Sunday Club in the Jubilee School Hall. They are led by a wonderful team of volunteers who feel called to care for them and teach them. Our trained teachers all have police clearances and Working With Children cards and will return your children to you in church at the end of the service. You are most welcome to visit our Sunday Club with your children to see how much fun it is.
This is a time of discovery that your kids will love. Your little ones will taste and see that the Lord is good through themed sessions with Bible stories, songs, a craft and toys. They’ll also get to enjoy our great indoor playground equipment and friendships with other little people who’ve all been born to know the One who was born for them; Jesus. If you prefer to stay with your child rather than return to church after drop off in the Hall, you are most welcome to do that. Please provide a nut-free snack for your child.
In addition to our Sunday morning Acorns group we offer a wonderful playgroup to nurture infants, pre-schoolers and their carers. This takes place on Mondays (see link).
A nurturing group with a focus on fun and learning about Jesus in a relaxed, weekend setting.
This is a time for kids to start to start to discover both the nature and character of God along with their own wonderful identity in Him so that they can enter into a life of worshipping Jesus. We place a high value on fun, prayer and loving the kids well.
Building further on what is taught in the lower primary years, our upper primary children will learn to encounter God throughout the week, experience the beautiful presence of the Holy Spirit and start to unpack what it means to be a friend of Jesus
Discussions about life in a safe place, the kinds of games you’ll still be talking about when you’re 40, opportunities to ask any question and time spent working out how to live the abundant life Jesus has for us. That’s Sunday mornings for our youth. They’re an awesome group. We love giving them leadership opportunities and helping them to start thinking beyond themselves. Come and meet them and see the goodness of God on display, as they shine like lights in the world.

Every fortnight during term after the Sunday kids programs at Caulfield we host a kids’ fun time in the memorial garden. This gives kids a chance to play together, to get to know each other better and build their friendships. It gives the parents a chance to have a coffee, share with others how God is impacting their lives, receive prayer if desired and meet new people after the 10.30am service.
The children are well supervised until 12:30pm when parents collect them.
Throughout the year we have casual get togethers in the Jubilee School Hall. We bring the out bbqs and everyone pitches in to have a great time. Sometimes these also take the shape of a movie night or a board games night. Whatever the plan, there are always activities on offer for toddlers through to our youth.
